Biography:

Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, Ben came to Penn State in 2006 to study meteorology. While he was an undergraduate researcher for Dr. Zhang in the summer of 2009, Ben began a project on supercells within the outer rainbands of hurricanes. Ben continued this research as a graduate student immediately after receiving his B.S. degree in the fall of 2009. As of August 2010, he is being funded through the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). His research interests include atmospheric predictability, tropical cyclones, and regional scale climate.
