Biography:

Erin Munsell is a first-year Master's student in Dr. Fuqing Zhang's group in the Department of Meteorology at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her B.S. in Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June of 2009. Her main research interests involve tropical cyclones and more specifically, the improvement of intensity forecasts for these storms. She has just begun her Master's research by working on a historical analysis of the Great New England Hurricane of 1938.
